DESPITE DISTANCE, THE BORDER IS NEVER FAR AWAY

During the past week, your news release editor has been in an environment quite different from South Texas. Surrounded by ringing church bells, 16th, 17th,  & 18th century architecture, stimulating people who appreciate his lectures, exciting field trips to archaeological sites, and colleagues whom he loves dearly, his attention has momentarily & fortunately been diverted from the chaos and tragedy which now characterize our southern border with Mexico.

Nevertheless, I am unable to rid myself of a gnawing pain in the deepest part of my gut when any mention of la Frontera is made. Yes, for those Texans living in proximity to our southern border, this human and political travesty is an ever present disaster.  Rapes, murders, pedophilia, an unobstructed flow of drugs, MS-13 criminals and malefactors from innumerable foreign origins continue to stream into our country by the hundreds of thousands.

It does not demand a high level  of intelligence to fathom the  devious intent behind this self-inflicted hemorrhage that threatens the integrity of America.  It should be obvious now that the catastrophic administration of self-serving leftists that purports to govern us, is seeking to play the long-game, betting that in ten to twenty years a multitude of new voters will vault them into a state of perpetual power.

If we are to survive and enjoy the liberties afforded us by our Republic and the Constitution that bolsters it, we cannot afford to tolerate the ongoing demolition of our freedoms. Our opportunity to call a halt to this abomination is now before us in the elections of 2022.  Concerned Americans must in great numbers return representatives true to the values of this great land to D.C.

In District 34, our best course is to send Mayra Fores, a young woman of traditional values and devotion to God, family and country to the people's House of Representatives.  With Mayra, we will be assured that she will fight the good fight for our country!
